       如果说文章是一座漂亮的房子,那么文章的框架就是地基,而组成这篇文章的句子,就是它的砖和瓦。那么问题来了,如何才能将这些砖和瓦组合到一起,并且将他们组合得漂亮呢?下面让我们一起走进枫叶高中Rachel老师的课堂,学习如何“添砖加瓦”。

       Rachel's class is full of vividness and energy. First of all, Rachel led the students to describe their math teacher named Betty with different adjectives and simple sentences. Students participated actively because Betty is one of their favorite teachers. Some of them said Betty was pretty, some of them said Betty was slim, and some of them said Betty was strict, etc.

       之后,Rachel给学生们提了一个问题:“Betty的梦想是什么?”于是他们展开了想象的翅膀,有的说Betty的梦想是想环游世界,有的说Betty的梦想是想让自己的驾驶技术更娴熟…….

       有了之前学生们一起想的简单句和形容词,Rachel已经为他们准备好了盖房子的“砖和瓦”,就等着巧手的工匠,将他们不断地砌高,变成房子。在学生扩充句子的同时,Rachel提醒学生们可以运用之前所学的状语从句、定语从句、同位语从句将这些简单句和形容词合成为更长更复杂的复合句和复杂句,学生们完成得非常好。

       Up to this point, Rachel has prepared enough materials for the students to “build their house” with those adjectives and simple sentences which they came up with together. The left is to wait for them to build the “house”. When the students ware expanding sentences, Rachel also reminded the students to use the adverbial clauses, attributive clauses, and the appositive clauses they had learned before to expand those simple sentences and adjectives into longer and more complicated complex sentences or compound sentences, and most of the students completed perfectly.
